HOMES IN LEFKADA

The villa is laid out on one level. It consists of 4 interior spaces and a single outdoor area, where the pool is located. The interior houses the bedroom, the living room (open-plan with the kitchen), a small office space and the bathroom.

The interior follows modern, clean lines with discreet Boho-Chic and traditional elements, which give the space warmth and convey a sense of the countryside and relaxation.

The materials align with the overall style of the project and help create a warm, relaxed feel. Mainly natural materials were chosen, such as wood, bamboo, rattan, natural stone (limestone) and more. The oak surfaces and Venetian rush details pair beautifully with the wooden ceiling and gently complement the brightness of the space.

MV Design completed the study and design of a holiday home in Vasiliki, Lefkada, set in lush green woodland overlooking the Ionian Sea.

The project comprises a 150 m² space whose load-bearing structure, exterior walls and pool shell had already been designed and built.

First, a mood board was put together taking into account the client’s wishes, the needs of the building and its intended use, as well as the need for harmony with the surrounding natural landscape. Once the style and the materials to be used were agreed, the designer proceeded with the layout proposal.

The colour palette is based on white and the natural colour of oak, very discreetly accented with some complementary base colours, such as shades of grey, combined with pastel peach, sky blue, mint and yellow.

The outdoor pool area follows the lines and style of the interior, with three key elements taking centre stage: the wooden pergola over the relaxation and sunbathing area; the traditional tiled roof, which uniquely showcases the natural landscape; and the fuchsia Bougainvillea, which complements the natural traditional stone of the walls in a unique way. A characteristic “carte postale” image that clearly evokes the beloved Greek summer.
