Tropical plants, used bottles, the marble bar and the handmade antique mirror are some of the many elements incorporated into this wine bar in Peristeri: Viñedo, designed by MV Design studio in November 2019.

Viñedo serves selected labels from Greek wineries and producers. It is located in a hidden side street just a breath away from the best-known and busiest “piatsa” in the centre of Peristeri.

We were asked to design a warm space with the aura of a well-hidden secret waiting to be discovered. A small, refined space where guests can enjoy wine and selected gourmet bites.

The ideal place for a drink after work or a stroll, with an atmosphere and décor in a New Luxury style with a Tropical touch.

Viñedo Wine Bar was designed as a gathering place, where creative people can connect and feed off each other’s energy. The seating arrangement and the layout of the space support this intention, resulting in a very sociable feeling in the bar, something the owners clearly asked us for from the very start.

Wood, marble, tiles and the deep green colour on the walls are some of the additional materials and elements that emphasise the perspective. The neon sign “good vibes only” at the back of the space is intended to underline this perspective.

The bar has a corner marble counter and a sloping cellar for old wine bottles. An industrial-style glass front was installed on the façade to let in plenty of natural light; when opened, it connects the interior with the outdoors.

The skylight is decorated with tropical plants that give the space a sense of life and warmth. The large bare wall to the left of the entrance references an art gallery; very distinctive frames were chosen, featuring various animals dressed as people.
